Outgoing Auburn Tigers softball player Carlee McCondichie chose not to use her fifth year of NCAA eligibility and eviscerated program bosses in since-deleted social media posts.

The utility player wrote on Twitter that she loved playing at Auburn, but revealed that she no longer has the «desire» to play after being benched on Senior Day.

«I will not take a fifth year,» he wrote. «Your thread is not directed at Auburn University. I love Auburn with all my heart and every girl that is a part of the Auburn softball program. It’s sad when a girl who has played the sport for 18 years out of her 22 years life has no interest or desire to play a 5th year.

«That’s what happens when you play for a program where when you fail, they immediately bench you. A program where they don’t chase you. A program where they only look at you from an athletic perspective, not from an athletic perspective. a personal perspective».

McCondichie said he gave his all to the show. The Alabama native hit .303 with two home runs and 22 RBIs as the Tigers went 43-19 during the season. The team was eliminated from the NCAA Regionals by Clemson.

McCondichie already deleted the post. Multiple outlets captured McCondichie’s post, including OutKick, before it was removed. There are only five seniors on Auburn’s current roster for the 2024 season.
