Welcome to your weekly roundup of the biggest stories from Netflix’s top 10 hourly figures for the week ending June 25, 2023. Through my window: across the sea, Attractive, the perfect findand make me believe all appear in this week’s report.
Every Tuesday, Netflix updates its Top 10 Stats page with 40 new figures per hour for the top movies and shows from the past seven days. If you want to easily browse the top 10 hourly data, visit our tool.
Note: In this report of Netflix hours viewed from June 19, 2023 to June 25, 2023, we will use «Full View Equivalent» or CVE, expressed in millions. That’s the same metric Netflix now uses in its Top 10 after the June 2023 methodology update. It allows for better comparisons between movies and series, but it’s not an audience metric. It is the minimum number of viewings if they were all complete from the first second to the last of the movie or season.

Attractive it’s a failure
There is no other way to say it. Whether you factor in «views» or «hours viewed» is a good faith ruling. Launch with 2.3 million CVEs in its first 4 days, Attractive makes the worst launch for any new US series in 2023 (tied with freeridge). There’s no pulling any punches here: it’s going to be canceled quickly… unless two seasons have been ordered in advance, which seems to be a recurring trend this year for Netflix (Unstable, the diplomatand fubar, for example, he seemed to have ordered two seasons in advance).
Glamorous vs. Other Netflix Original Debut Shows in First Four Days
Netflix releases three romantic movies on the same day.
Netflix is usually very good at programming varied shows and movies throughout the year, but last week they did something quite unusual for them by releasing three (3!) romantic movies on the same day: Spanish sequel through my window 2turkish romantic drama make me believe and American romantic comedy the perfect find with Gabrielle Union.
Now, I understand that different romantic movies can have more views depending on the territory (the perfect find seems localized to the US/Canada region, while through my window 2 it could be for Europe and Latin America), but still, that probably impacted some of those titles for its opening weekend.
Through my Window 2, for example, it launched with 14.5 million CVEs, a considerable decline from the 17.5 million CVE launch of the first film, which ended up being the third most watched international film on Netflix after its first 91 days on 2022. That’s still good enough to be the seventh best release for any international film opening on a Friday.

across the Atlantic, the perfect find it didn’t fare as well with its 7 million CVE launch, one of the worst launches for an American rom-com released on a Friday in my data set. The Summer of Love 2023 is not shaping up to be good, at least for American movies.
The Perfect Find vs other Netflix original romance movies – first three days
«Make Me Believe» broke a record and became the best launch for a Turkish romance film opening on a Friday with 6.6 million CVEs in its first three days, surpassing love tactics (which will have a sequel).

So definitely a mixed bag for those three romantic movies. His retention next week will be interesting to watch.
FUBAR passes the first 28 day mark
FUBAR it’s still in its fifth week, so it’s time to compare the series to others at the 28-day mark. With an estimated 35.3 million CVEs after 28 days, it’s not a huge hit by Netflix standards, but a regular one, ranking among the likes of the recruit, Lawyer Lincoln, either The Sandman. As for those shows, the second season will be hit or miss.

One consequence of the new Top 10 methodology is that stand-up specials now have a chance to shine on the charts.
Last week, a new special from 85 south launched with 3M CVE, beating Amy Schumer’s Emergency Contact, which launched the week before. A new world of comparisons opens before our eyes, and I am here for it.
