Netflix has unveiled its July 2023 Movie & TV lineup and US additions include hidden hit, which will mark the first time the film has been available on a streaming service. hidden hit arrives on Netflix on July 28, 2023.

scott waugh he directs the feature and is no stranger to action movies. He has worked as a director, producer and editor on films such as need for speed and Bravery act.

Jackie Chan (Rush hour, Who I am?) and John Cena (the suicide squad, WWE) lead the cast as Luo Feng and Chris Van Horne, respectively. They play a duo of former special forces soldiers who must escort a group of civilians through Baghdad’s notorious highway of death.

Along with Cena and Chan, the film includes Pilou Asbæk (ghost in the shell, game of Thrones), Zhenwei Wang (The Karate Kid), Amadeo Serafini (Scream: The TV Series, Summer days, summer nights), Rachel Holloway (The few), and Max Huang (Mortal Kombat).

The film was shot in western China, with Sylvester Stallone originally eyed for the lead role. The project first announced in 2018 and was originally named Project X and also known as SNAFU.

However, to make a theatrical debut in the United States, the film will now head straight to Netflix, albeit without any Netflix Original branding.

XYZ Films is distributing the film. It is not clear if other Netflix regions will receive hidden hit further down the road.

The addition of the film expands on Netflix’s growing partnership with XYZ Films, which has licensed and produced films exclusively for Netflix in recent years. Previous titles coming to Netflix (as originals and licensed SVOD debuts) from the company include Blackout, I came for, Stowaway, and The platform.

Upcoming Netflix original projects include run rabbit run (previous launch in June 2023), Code 8: Part IIand Havoc.
