The sequel to a spin-off of a sequel is about to hit theaters with the return of The cat with boots. The second film will be released in theaters on December 21, 2022 and will arrive on Netflix in 2023 for a period of 10 months in the United States. Here is the current release schedule for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
Directed by Joel Crawford, the film sees The cat with boots discovering that his passion for adventure has taken its toll and he only has one life left. Puss sets out on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish and restore all nine of his lives.
The film has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, with San Francisco Chronicle calling it «a perfect package of whimsy, sass, and sweetness.»

When Puss in Boots: The Last Wish be on Netflix US?
As part of the first window deal, Netflix joined Universal and its animation studios in 2021, and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will stream on Netflix US in 2023.
The next question is when the «first window» rights have been split between Peacock and Netflix.
Universal Animation First Window Rights Agreement with Netflix
The theatrical window for DreamWorks movies so far has been 70 days (although it was initially thought to be 45 days), so here’s how it currently works in practice:
- Puss in Boots: The Last Wish It will be exclusive in theaters from December 21 to March 2023.
- Now the Peacock as of March 10, 2023.
- Then stream on Netflix in the US between July 10, 2023 and May 10, 2024
- He then returns to Peacock for another four months.
Just to clinch that date, so, we’re waiting Puss in Boots: The Last I want to be available on Netflix US on July 10, 2023.
Netflix would also be expected to receive the movie again in the second window in 2026/27, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Willpower Puss in Boots: The Last Wish be on Netflix internationally?
We do not have solid information on when and if Puss in Boots: The Last Wish It will come to Netflix outside of the United States.
We can look at previous DreamWorks movies coming to Netflix to make some predictions:
- Netflix in South Korea will receive the film around the same time in the US in 2023
- Netflix in Canada, Australia, and Japan typically receives new DreamWorks movies about two years after their initial release. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish it will probably arrive in 2025/26.
