It’s already been a busy summer at Netflix UK, and with all the great new movies and shows hitting the library in August, there are plenty of subscribers looking forward to it.

  • Paprika (2006) – Japanese anime.
  • Rich holidays, poor holidays (various seasons) – Two families from two different origins, one rich and the other working class, are dedicated to vacations.
  • Untold: Jake Paul the Problem Kid (2023) north – Sports documentary focused on Jake Paul, one of the most infamous internet personalities turned professional boxer.

  • Choona (season 1) north – Hindi detective comedy.
  • Lansky (2021) – Crime drama starring Harvey Keitel as Meyer Lansky, a man under investigation by the feds for allegedly hiding millions of dollars over the course of 50 years.

  • Mark Cavendish: Never Enough (2023) north
  • Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food (2023) north – Documentary that reveals the secrets of feeding the American population.
  • Soul Catcher (2023) north – Polish thriller.

What’s coming to Netflix on August 3, 2023:

  • Face to Face (2023) north – Comedy from Saudi Arabia.
  • Heartstoppers (Season 2) north – British romantic drama centering on Charlie and Nick’s unlikely relationship that develops into young love.
  • Lincoln’s Lawyer (Season 2, Part 2) north – Legal drama starring Manuel García-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, an idealistic lawyer who runs his law practice from the back of his beloved Lincoln Town Car.

  • Zom 100: Wish List of the Dead (2023) north – Live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga of the same name, in which an overworked Akira Tendô finds a new lease on life after the zombie apocalypse prevents him from returning to work.

  • Veerappan’s Hunt (limited series) north – Documentary about Indian crimes.

  • Gabby’s Dollhouse (Season 8) north – Children’s animated series.

  • The Seven Deadly Sins: The Edinburgh Grudge: Part 2 (2023) north – Sequel movie to the popular anime series. The seven capital sins.
  • Starstruck (multiple seasons) – The comedy series stars Rose Matafeo as Jessie, a millennial in London struggling to juggle her two dead-end jobs, has her life turned upside down when she sleeps with a prominent movie star.

  • Untold: Johnny Football (2023) north – Documentary focused on soccer star Johnny Manziel.
  • Zombiverse (Season 1) north – Korean reality series that pits a group of celebrities against each other in a simulated zombie apocalypse as they compete for food, water, and survival.

What’s coming to Netflix on August 10, 2023:

  • Ghostbusters: Beyond (2021)) – Years after the Ghostbusters saved New York City, Egon’s daughter and her family return to the family home. Egon’s grandchildren soon begin to discover their grandfather’s secrets and link him to the original Ghostbusters team.

  • Mechanical Cadets (Season 1) north – Animated adventure series in which a teenage underdog joins an elite group of young cadets chosen to team up with mechanical robots to defend Earth from an alien invasion.
  • Painkiller (limited series) north – Crime drama centered on the rise of Oxycontin, a prescription drug that became one of the most addictive substances in America.

What’s coming to Netflix on August 11, 2023:

  • Down For Love (Season 1) north – Reality series centered on a group of singles with Down syndrome trying to find love.
  • Stone Heart (2023) north – Gal Gadot stars as intelligence agent Rachel Stone, who finds herself in a race against time to stop a hacker from stealing and releasing the agency’s most valuable weapon.

  • Behind Your Touch (Season 1) north – Weekly – Korean drama that sees a hot-blooded detective and a vet with psychometric powers fall in love while solving petty crimes.

  • My Dad the Bounty Hunter (Season 1) north – Animated series that follows two boys who discover that their father is the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy.

  • 10 Days of a Bad Man (2023) north – Turkish crime drama centering on Sadik, an eagle-eyed private
  • Derry Girls (Season 3) – Hilarious comedy series from Northern Ireland starring Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan.
  • The Monkey King (2023) north – Animated adventure and adaptation of the beloved Chinese fable Journey to the West.

  • Lighthouse (season 1) north – Japanese talk show.
  • Untold: Kings of the Swamp (2023) north -Sports docuseries focusing on Urban Meyer’s time as head coach of the Florida Gators from 2005 to 2010.

  • Baki: Hanma (Season 2 Part 2) north – The Japanese anime will conclude with Baki finally facing off against his father Yamamoto in an incredible and explosive showdown.
  • Ragnarok (season 3) north – The last season of the popular Swedish supernatural drama.
  • Who is Erin Carter? (Season 1) north – Spanish police drama starring Evin Ahmad as Erin Collantes, a British teacher who, after getting caught in a robbery at a supermarket, is recognized by one of the robbers, who threatens to end her life.

  • You’re Not So Invited To My Bat Mitzvah (2023) north – Comedy centered on Stacey Friedman, whose preparation for her bat mitzvah ends in disaster. Starring Adam Sandler and Idina Menzel.
