The Superintendence of Companies presented its traditional report on The 1,000 largest companies in Colombiaof which, those that occupied the first 50 positions stood out.
This report includes 314 companies in the manufacturing sector, 304 trade, 259 service companies, 52 hydrocarbons and mining, 45 construction and 26 from the agricultural sector.
In 2022, the operating income of the 1,000 companies totaled 1,217 trillion pesos and the top 50 had a 44 percent share of this global number. The superintendency highlighted that last year only eight new companies entered the Top 50.
The companies that stand out in this Top 50 belong, for the most part, to the services and commerce sectors, which cover two thirds of the total.
As to profits last year were 137 billion pesos and the 50 companies that head the list collect 56 percent of this figure.
The first five companies that appear on the list belong to the hydrocarbons and mining sectors: Ecopetrol, Cartagena Refinery, Terpel, Cerrejón and Drummond.
Then they appear Grupo Éxito, EPM, New EPS, Claro, D1, AviancaColombia de Comercio, Emgesa, Kopps Comercial, EPS Sura, EPS Sanitas, Jerónimo Colombia, Cenit, Movistar and Olímpica.
