A Texas high school softball player went viral last week for the stunt she pulled on a play at home plate during a game.
Carthage High School senior Jada Walton found herself in a tight spot when she tried to put a run on the board for her team. She rounded third base and was met by the Center High School catcher at the plate. It should have been an easy out, but Walton somehow managed to work his way around the receiver.

Walton avoided the first tag attempt, but missed the plate as he went home. The catcher seemed to have pinned Walton.
However, Walton looked directly into the receiver’s face and pointed in another direction. The catcher looked, and in that split second, Walton dove for home plate. She was safe.

«I was really kidding because I thought he was going to be out,» Walton said. Panola’s watchman. «So I took aim and she looked and I saw that as an opportunity to score.»
She added that she was even surprised that it worked.
«I was surprised by what I did. I had never seen that, cheating on someone like that, then when I was on the bench, I was screaming and very excited,» she added.

The play was part of a five-run fifth inning to help Carthage beat Center 7-5.
