With a win on Saturday, Oregon would earn its first berth to the college world series since 1954.
«This team has a toughness I’ve never seen before — they’re not going to give up,» Oregon coach Mark Wasikowski said, according to The Oregonian. «Coming back from an 8-0 deficit, as disappointed as they were in the third inning, they’ve been working to build this where a day like this would happen with this many people here and the energy.

Oral Roberts put up a standout eight in the third inning before oregon started to take the lead.
The Ducks tied the game in the seventh inning and the Oregon pitching staff was able to hold Oral Roberts scoreless after the third inning barrage.

«We talked about playing each inning at a time and not playing the score,» Cowley said. «Gather the team in the dugout and say it exactly; we’re playing every inning, we’re not playing the score. We’re playing to build momentum and keep pushing, keep putting out… No matter what the score is, we’re always in the game.»

Oral Roberts will now look to bounce back in Game 2 on Saturday after his 21-game winning streak was snapped in historic fashion.
«Tomorrow is a new day,» ORU first baseman Jake McMurray said, according to The Oregonian. «We still have to be able to win two games on the weekend; they still have to beat us again. I think we have to clean this one up and come back tomorrow.»
