Ryan Murphy is perhaps one of the most prolific producers in Hollywood and since 2018 has worked with Netflix under a comprehensive master agreement. Here’s the full breakdown of Ryan Murphy’s entire production for Netflix so far and what’s next.
As you may know, Netflix has umbrella deals with prolific creators from all over the world. Ryan Murphy was one of the biggest creators to jump onto Netflix, having previously worked exclusively for Disney and its FX and Fox brands creating hits like american horror story, American Crime Story, Joy, and others.
While Murphy is still working with Disney on existing projects, he’s also working on Netflix projects until at least June 2023, when his contract expires.

Monster (Season 2)

What was previously thought to be a limited series has now become another entirely new anthology for Ryan Murphy. However, for some Monster came out of nowhere, despite the limited amount of publicity, the series remained a huge success for Netflix.
Renewed for at least two more seasons, the next season of Monster will likely focus on another of America’s infamous serial killers. Interestingly enough, we got to see the focus shift and instead of serial killers, we got to see others.» monsters» of American history, however, this might be too close to Murphy’s other crime series, American Crime Story.
The vigilant (Season 2)
Coming to Netflix: TBA (date subject to change)
Another series that we previously thought was going to be limited has instead been renewed for a second season. Almost immediately after Monster’s release was The Watcher, and while the series didn’t reach the same heights as Monster, it still performed considerably well in its own right.
It is not clear when we will see the next season on Netflix, but we will see it in the near future.
ratchet (Season 2)
Coming to Netflix: A stranger
Before the release of Monster, the first season of ratchet it was without a doubt the biggest title to hit Netflix from Murphy. It exceeded expectations and made Netflix’s list of most watched shows.
When the series was originally announced after an intense bidding war, Netflix gave the series a two-season order, meaning Nurse Ratched would have to return.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a window when we can expect season 2 of ratchet no production dates and the cast members are also unclear if the show will ever return.
a chorus line (Limited Series)
Coming to Netflix: Determined
a chorus line It debuted as a movie in 1985 but was originally a Broadway musical. This new limited miniseries will consist of 10 episodes that will adapt the work to the present.

Coming to Netflix: Determined
This series will have a similar premise to Murphy’s previous biopic. Halston series to be a biographical limited series based on a famous figurehead.
Jessica Lange is ready to play the role from Marlene, who previously appeared on The politician in his first season.
The series is reportedly in pre-production, however we have yet to hear from any cast members beyond Jessica Lange.

Coming to Netflix: Determined
Announced in May 2018This new anthology series adding to the #MeToo movement will examine stories of sexual harassment in the workplace, specifically during the movement.
Each episode would be tell a new story with another manager. One of the episodes is expected to cover an account of what happened at the Weinstein Company and another to cover the allegations against house of cards actor Kevin Spacey.
The Legend of Georgia McBride
This will be the third major adaptation of a Ryan Murphy play and is being produced alongside Todd Spiewak and Eric Norsoph.
the project was first announced in late 2020.
The film will follow an expectant father laid off from his job and looking to break into the entertainment industry as a drag performer. Jim Parsons is currently attached to star.
gardener
Coming to Netflix: Determined
Scheduled to be written and directed by Robert O’Hara, gardener is the temporary name of a new limited series to be produced by Ryan Murphy and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The limited series is believed to be a biopic about 19-year-old Los Angeles Dodger Glenn Burke, who is reportedly the first person to ever do a high-five.

Janet Mock will lead this project that is produced by Ryan Murphy. It is based on journalist Janet Cooke, who won a Pulitzer Prize in the early 1980s for her article Jimmy’s World, but quickly got into trouble for it.
Before we leave you, we just want to conclude with a few other points, rumors, or projects that have been announced in the past but have gone quiet.
- A feature film about former first lady Betty Ford is reportedly in active development, but has yet to be confirmed.
- Ryan Murphy and Rob Lowe were reportedly at one stage teaming up for a movie about Joe Exotic, the subject of Netflix. tiger king documentary series.
- In 2015, one-hit star It was announced, in which Ryan Murphy teams up with Gwyneth Paltrow for a musical comedy-drama. That title is gone MIA, but maybe it could make it to Netflix.
- There have been many rumors that Murphy could bring scream queens to Netflix but nothing of substance unfortunately.
