«I think we’re looking forward to it,» Johnson said at the league’s annual meeting on Tuesday, via the New York Post. «We’re looking forward to it, I guess. We’re looking ahead. We’re optimistic. We have a plan. We’re willing to stick with our plan. I don’t think anyone is hyperventilating.»

Johnson has insisted that the organization needed to search for a veteran quarterback in the offseason after another dismal year for the second overall pick in the 2021 draft. Zach Wilson.

«I’m not the patient type, really,» Johnson added. «We have to win. We’re in the business of winning, so we have to win now. That’s the same thing I said 23 years ago.»

Questions have been circulating as to why an agreement has not yet been reached despite the strong rodgers chase and the clear intentions of the Packers to move forward with Jordan Love at quarterback.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst told the league’s annual meeting Monday that a No. 1 pick isn’t necessarily a must in this situation.

«Yes, I think that’s not a necessity,» Gutekunst said. «But at the same time, player value — he’s a top-tier player, so it’s important to get top-tier picks back for (first) players.»
