After the game, the vice president had a chance to give the downtrodden Bison players a pep talk in their locker room after their loss.
«You played hard. You played down to the last second. You did all of us Bisons proud,» he said. «You’re smart. You’re disciplined. You put everything you had into the game. You didn’t stop, and that’s very inspiring. So you keep playing with your chin up and your shoulders back because you showed the world who Bison is.

«So I know you may not feel great right now, okay, but I know who you are. You are excellence. You are hard work. You are powerful and you are a winner.»
Harris’ speech, however, didn’t really resonate with the rest of social media.
Howard was making his third NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament appearance in program history. It was the second time the team had been selected as a No. 16 seed. The Bison were a No. 12 seed in 1981.
