Hanna and Haley Cavinder helped the Miami Hurricanes make the Elite Eight in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament for the first time in program history this year before losing to LSU.

However, the Cavinders admitted that their time in the tournament was nearly affected because a family member in their home state of Michigan was battling a health issue. The Cavinder twins, who have more than 4.5 million followers on TikTok, made the revelation in a video on Tuesday recapping their March Madness.

«We’ve got the double, so we’re in the round of 32,» Haley Cavinder said. «It was really good. We had some family issues, so one of mine had to go back to Michigan. I’m not going to go into detail about that, I like to tune out, but that’s why my mood isn’t really good.» . But today is Sunday, so we just have to get ready for Indiana.»

Hanna Cavinder gave an update after the team upset Indiana in the second round of the tournament.

«That was crazy, that game was crazy,» he said. «Especially playing in Indiana, in front of their fans. I can’t believe we’re going to Sweet 16.

«This video was a little difficult to shoot. I know Haley brought up personal health issues within our family and it was difficult, our emotions were all over the place, but everything is good now. Solidifying that win was the icing on the cake.»

It’s unclear which member of the Cavinders’ family was ill, but the famous social media athletes managed to finish the tournament following their loss to the Tigers.
